"HORSE OF THE YEAR"
2001 Dutch Warmblood / Holsteiner Stallion

Jump Start Farm is proud to introduce their new stallion, Aslan! Approved in RPSI Stallion Book I as a 2 year old with scores of no less than 9 for trot and canter, Aslan is a stallion for FEI Dressage competitors / breeders. Aslan, with only three USDF "in hand" appearances and scores over 80%, stands 2nd in the U.S.

His extravagant gaits (receiving USDF in-hand scores over 80%) make him a good choice for improving quality of movement with upper level dressage in mind.

Already coveted by breeders in U.S. and Europe, Aslan will have a limited first book.

Aslan is by Alla' Czar (first photo), a stunningly handsome imported Dutch Warmblood. Alla' Czar was shown on the "A" hunter/jumper circuit where he displayed his superlative jumping technique and later he was shown at FEI level dressage where he earned scores in the 70 percentiles.

Alla' Czar is sired by Zeus (second photo) whose progeny have won almost 5 million DM to date. Just some of Zeus' highly successful show jumping progeny: Lonesome Dove, Czar, Zymbal I, Zymbal II, Swift, Beach Boy, Zenit, Zyklon, Zarino 4, Zunkunft, Zaandam, Zapateado, Zyklus, Zeno, Zandor Z, Marlon [VDL], and Zaster 5 (to name a few) make Zeus a paramount producer of show jumpers. Today, Zeus is still one of the most sought after sires of show jumpers.

Aslan's dam, Jete (third photo), a lovely Holsteiner mare, carries noble blood of Schleswig, Holstein.

Jete is by Columbus who is the sire of top dressage and jumper Champions, among them the two approved stallions, Coeur de Lion and Cimmarron.

Columbus' sire, Caylpso II (fourth photo), an international show jumper under Michael Ruping, has sired more than 40 approved stallions; the famous Coriolan and Contender, both Champion of their stallion testing, are among them.

Jete's dam, the 1988 National Champion Holsteiner filly, is sired by Condino, also Champion of his stallion inspection in Holstein.

Both Condino and Calypso II share the same sire: Cor de la Bryere (fifth photo). Cor de la Bryere, famous for revolutionizing the Holsteiner breed as we know it today, was said to exhibit the best jumping bascule and technique ever seen in the equine world.
